Be inspired by children's clothing: DSD Challenge #11

Welcome to the eleventh official challenge of our Digital Scrapbooking Day celebration!  For Digital Scrapbooking Day, we're offering challenges related to digital scrapbooking - which will encourage sampling various digital techniques, as well as tasks related to archiving your memories digitally. We will be posting challenges hourly, from 8am to 8pm Eastern.

Digital Scrapbooking Day Challenge #11: Use a piece of children’s clothing as inspiration for a digital project.

The inspiration you draw from the piece can be varied -- the color scheme, a pattern, or a memory of your children, or from your own childhood.  If using the color scheme, use the color dropper tool to create a color palette (then share the palette!).  If you don’t have children’s clothing nearby, search the web for examples (try GapKids and Hanna Andersson).

Challenge Submission Details

  • Even though the challenges will be posted hourly, they don't need to be completed in an hour, nor do they need to be completed on 11/3/07 (though you're welcome to try!)
  • Deadline for comment-entries for all challenges is 9pm Eastern 11/4/07
  • We'll do a random drawing for prize winners then - so no worries about your entry being "good enough" to win!
  • Upload your layout to the online gallery or blog of your choice, AND leave a comment here on original challenge post to enter the prize drawing.
  • -OR- Upload your project to Flickr.com and tag it "Digital Scrapbooking Day" and/or "DSD".  Then ALSO leave a comment here on original challenge post to enter the prize drawing.
  • Participants can enter ONCE for each drawing.

For this Challenge, we will be drawing random participants to win one of the following prizes:

Here is a recipe - glad it's scrapped now as this is one we love to bring to parties during the holidays.

Oh my - note to self: a long day of being on the computer may lead to errors - go to bed!

Here's the real link to a layout that was inspired by my children's clothing (pink and blue)!

You're right Tanya... These challenges are addictive. I live in Guam so it's pretty crazy late... er early... here right now.

Okay, here's one that I just finished. My son's denim overalls goes well with this kit by Lynn Grievesen. And it's free too! I also made the title from the overalls.

Here's mine for the children's clothing- I liked the blue with touches of neutral and green in the shirt.
