I haven't been able to post this before because it was a bit of a secret but I'm taking my two DD to NYC tomorrow .....and.....we have tickets to see Wicked! I didn't want to post earlier since my oldest DD sometimes reads my blog. She has been obsessed with Wicked for quite some time now, having read the book and I do believe she has all the songs memorized! LOL!
I don't know what else we will do there - both girls want to visit Dylan's Candy Bar and we have orders from my friend Teresa to fill! What a great excuse!
The youngest and I both want to visit Ellis Island. She studied it in school last year so that would be cool. She really wants to see if she can find DH's grandfather who came here from Russia (now the Ukraine) but we tried the data base once and couldn't find him. So very many things happened as immigrants passed through that I am not surprised. And apparently he never talked about his life there. I understand that many immigrants didn't want to be reminded of their past but now I wish we knew something about it. My family is a bit better - Irish immigrants who came in the early part of the Irish migration. It is a place I have always wanted to visit so hopefully it won't be too cold!
Other than that I hope we can find time to maybe glance around Columbia University a bit. I know she's only a sophomore but I figure it doesn't hurt to take a look. Being a country girl, she is interested in college in the city but this may be too much city for her.
There never seems to be shortage of things to do and see so even without an itinerary I am sure we will keep busy!!!
