Fall is always a busy time of year for me but this year it has been more so than usual I'm afraid. The result has been zero time for blogging that's for sure! So now for a bit of catch up -
Everyone is back in school and we have all survived the first month. I think I have the schedules set and so far I haven't forgotten too many things. Teen #1 is spending her first semester in Madrid Spain and seems to be loving it. She got off to a bit of a rocky start - no Internet, no phone and in her family the mother does not speak English. She spent the first month in a Spanish intensive course so now she seems more comfortable. Plus she now has Internet at her house so we can Skype her. And she just set up a blog Te Echo De Menos so she can post updates. Okay maybe reading about her escapades at the disco was a wee bit scary - I am her mother after all - but at least I am reading about it after-wards so it went all right.
Teen #2 is in 8th grade and decided to try Cross Country this fall. Her first meet was last week and she came in 28th out of 43. Not bad for a first try! She really loves it which surprises me since she had never shown any interest in sports before. Who knew? It is a great work out and two days a week she goes from practice to dance. She is taking pointe, tap and jazz and is on the competition team too. There is no fat on those legs!
I'm in the midst of running a 5 week college course which meets every day. I love teaching it and this is the second year I have run it so at least all the powerpoints were done last year which is really helpful. I did have to develop some new labs this year but they have gone remarkable well and I only have two more to run this week. I suppose I should knock on wood.
I got a chance to catch up a bit today here though I haven't done any scrapping in ages. Since it poured here all day I did a bunch of cooking - apple sauce, apple squares and challah! Recipes to follow...
