Post Cards

You can make your own post cards - really!  It's easy!

Every summer my DDs go off to camp and of course getting lots of letters from home is important.  Writing a full sized letter every day is hard - there's not that much news and too much chatting about home might make them too homesick so I hit upon sending them post cards.

Here's a complete Tutorial on Making Post Cards. I like to include quotes on mine - Teen1 did a college course/camp for 2 summers and used them to decorate her dorm room and door.   I love them because they are small enough to write just a bit and cheap to mail - it's easy to send one every day.  I print them on card stock, scribble on the back, add a stamp and I'm done!  You could get them printed out as photos too if you wanted a more polished appearance.

They make terrific party invitations or save the date notices.  You could even use them to make advertising postcards (but you'd need commercial permission from the designers first.)

Here are some I made tonight.

Leaving a Trail

I like this quote so much I've used it twice - once for a post card and the other time for a CD calender page....

New Beginnings

an appropriate title for the new year...

And as it happens it is the title of the January DigiShopTalk kit by Meredith Fenwick.  So using that as an inspiration, I decided to scrap some Weight Watchers recipes.  I haven't tried the Moroccan Slow Cooker Stew though being a working mom, I am very fond of slow cookers. [edited to add: We tried this tonight 1/10/08 and it got the thumbs up from everyone!] As long as I remember to get it started in the morning, I'm all set for dinner.  Anyway I can vouch that the other two are great!

Just click on the title to get the full size recipe to download and print.

Girl Scout Cookie Recipes

Yes, you read that correctly!  Recipes that use Girl Scout cookies!  Who knew you could do soemthing other than just eat them?

These recipes came from the Girl Scouts and were in our cookie information package this year.  Since order taking starts this week, I thought I'd share them with you.  I have not tried any of them, mind you.  But my DDs who are both Girl Scouts, think the Cheesecake Cup and Tagalong Shake sound pretty good!

For all of these I used the On My Honor kit by Karah Fredricks and Kim Giarruso at The DigiChick and various fonts - Big Ruckus, j.d., Lorraine, Stamp Act and Amanda.  Click on the title to get the full size version for printing out yourself.  And I'd love to hear if you try any of them!
