I'm off to Florida with Tween to celebrate my mom's birthday. She turned 80 (gasp!) on Wednesday and we're having kind of a mini reunion. My sisters from Georgia and Tennessee will be there without husbands so we are all staying together. The cousins are very close in age so they should have a blast! My brother is coming too with his DD as his son has baseball games. And my Teen is staying home with DH as her final exams start next week.
I really can't believe my mom is that old and I just realized that I don't have any recent photos of her - that, you can be sure, will be remedied this weekend. I have a 10X zoom so I'm hoping to get some candid ones. Fortunately for all of us, she is a 'young 80' - she still plays 9 holes of golf almost everyday and is very independent. She drives up here every summer alone and does lots of traveling on her own - I think she is going to Norway later this year. Actually she travels quite a bit and I have trouble keeping track of where she is. Definitely has some health problems but certainly doesn't let them get in the way of enjoying life. So if I get to be 80 that's the way I want to do it!
It really feels like summer here - 70 degrees and sunny. Can't wait until I get back and can put in tomoto and pepper plants. I have one more bed to repair but that's going to be for beans so hopefully I can get it fixed up next week and start planting it too. Looks like it'll be a full garden this summer!
Have a great long weekend !
Just wanted to say I just found your site and really like it and can't wait to try out your techniques on my own scrapbooking pages! Have a great birthday reunion!
