First, my refrigerator is finally working again! Yeah! No more daily trips to the grocery store. I can't believe it took that long to get a new thermostat....
Second, I was watering my plants this morning in a sort of vague hope that some of them may survive those three days without heat. Sadly the avocado tree is gone and I don't think it will come back. But look what I found on my snake plant
a flower! I didn't even know they had any flowers at all and I have had this plant for a long time - who knew?
Third, I got to talk to our old sitter Jeanne. We've both been so busy with new jobs and all that I haven't talked to her in ages. She was kind enough to buy some GS cookies from Tween. When we got off the phone, Tween and I both were a bit teary. "I really miss her," said Tween. Me too!
And lastly but not leastly, I'm off to Anaheim tomorrow for CHA - the Craft and Hobby Association trade show which is a huge show encompassing all sorts of crafts - yarn, fabric, stamping and of course, scrapbooking. Martha Stewart is doing the opening talk which is pretty exciting. And there is a laptop crop organized by Digital Scrapbook Place. Plus a DigiShopTalk dinner and loads of people to see. We are going to be showing off the new Recipes Project CD which I am really excited about. We had many people volunteer to beta test it and I saw several of them posted comments on a recipe thread at DigiShopTalk. Wicked cool!
If you are going to CHA, please come by and visit Mary and I. We're in Booth 207 in the New Exhibitors area and we'd love to meet you!
I had a snake plant for years and years, which bloomed exactly once....
I wonder if they only bloom every decade or something......
I'm glad you got your fridge back. We were without an enclosed back yard for nearly five of the last 8 weeks -- necessitating going out with the dogs EVERY time they went out, and walking them multiple times a day.
Compared to *real* problems in the world, it wasn't a big deal, but it surely was annoying!
Have a great time at CHA!
